The NAS Oceana Blue Jacket of the Quarter, First Quarter 2010 is Aviation Electronics Technician Airman Kandyce Cox, from Air Detachment Norfolk.

Cox has performed duties as administrative assistant and administrative division supply manager in an exemplary and professional manner, working outside her rate.

She became well-versed in administrative office procedures and processed more than 1,200 pieces of correspondence for 350 Air Detachment personnel. She set the standard for her peers in conduction on-the-job training and has completed numerous Navy Knowledge Online courses, greatly enhancing her knowledge base. Cox was also hand-selected to track the type and tonnage of cargo and personnel dispatched from the Hampton Roads area in support of Haitian earthquake relief from Jan. 14 to Feb. 4.

She volunteered off-duty time to Luxford Elementary School in Virginia Beach, for events such as “Back-2-School” night, Fire Prevention Week and the Halloween Pumpkin Patch trail.
